Namak mandi Karahi Gosht

KPK a very beautiful Provence of our Pakistan. This dish is most famous there.  Namak Mandi Karahi Gosht a very famous dish of Pakistan Peshawar. Namak Mandi is actually a market in Peshawar where they sell this karahi. Traditionally they use a lot of fat  for making this karahi but I am making this in a healthy way and home style way so no fat at all. And actual ratio of this karahi is 1 kg meat and 2 medium tomatoes but I am using  4 tomatoes in it because I need some gravy in it. A very tasty type of karahi made with just meat, ginger, tomatoes , green chilies and salt., make and enjoy  🙂 

Ingredients,

  • Lamb or goat meat with bones small pieces    1 kg
  • Tomatoes  medium   4
  • Ginger Chopped   4 tbsp
  • Green chilies chopped  2 tbsp
  • Salt  1 tsp or as required
  • Oil  1/4 cup
  • Fresh coriander chopped for garnish

Directions,

1. Chop ginger, green chilies. Cut tomatoes in 2 pieces.

2. Heat a wok add 3 tbsp oil.

3. Add meat, saute it for 2-3 minutes.

4. Now with lid on slow heat let it cook for 30-40 minutes.
Do not add any water, meat will be tender in its own water. Stir in between.

5. After 30-40 minutes add ginger and green chilies and saute it on high heat until all juices evaporates.

5. Now add tomatoes. and stir for 3-4 minutes.
Again with lid on slow heat let it cook for 15 minutes.

6. After 15 minutes take off tomatoes skin and throw it.

7. Add 1 tsp salt and 1/4 cup oil and cook on high heat until tomatoes devolve in it nicely.

9. Sprinkle fresh coriander and again with lid and slow heat give it last dum of 5-10 minutes.

Namak Mandi Karahi Gosht is ready .
Serve it with Naan or hot fresh chapati 🙂
