Potato & Beans Curry/ Shorba

A simple home style everyday curry. Potatoes and beans cooked together in tomato puree and spices with light curry/shorba served with hot homemade chapati.

Serving= 4-5

Ingredients,

  • Potato   600 g
  • Green beans   250 g
  • Onion  1 medium
  • Tomato puree  3 tbsp
  • Oil  1/4 cup
  • Chicken cube  1
  • Salt  1 tsp
  • Red chili powder  1/2 tso
  • Green chili finely chopped  1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder  1 tsp
  • Cumin whole   1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder  1/2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice  2 tbsp
  • Black pepper crushed   1/4 tsp

Directions,

1. Heat a pan add 1/4 cup oil with sliced onion and cook until onion changes its color.

2. Add tomato puree and green chili chopped, stir few seconds.

3. Add salt, chicken cube, red chili powder, whole cumin, coriander powder and garam masala , stir few seconds.

4. Add in fine cubes cut potatoes and beans.

5. Stir for 2-3 minutes.

6. Add 1 cup water.

7. Cover and cook on low heat until potatoes and beans are nicely tender.

8. Add lemon juice and sprinkle crushed black pepper. Mix and turn off the heat.

Serve with fresh homemade chapati and salad.
