Baloshahi(Pakistani sweet)

Ingredients,

  • flour    250 gm
  • ghee/unsalted butter      70 gm
  • water   5 tbsp
  • baking powder    1 tsp
  • yogurt    2 tsp
  • oil for frying
  • crushed almonds for garnish

For sugar syrup

  • sugar  500 gm
  • water    300 ml

Directions,

1.for sugar syrup  add 500 gm sugar and 300ml water in a pan,turn on the heat stir it until sugar dissolves in it and it start boiling.now turn off the heat and let it cool.

2.in a clean bowl  add ghee/unsalted butter,water 5 tbsp,baking  powder 1 tsp,yogurt 2 tsp, stir well.

3.now add flour and make a dough but do not kneed the dough just mix it with light hands for the perfect texture of baloshahi.

4.make equal parts of dough leave it for 5 minutes.

5.now make small balls of dough.

6.keep the ball on your hand and press in the center with thumb like this.

7.repeat with remaining dough.

8.now heat the oil and put baloshahi in it ,but the oil should not be to much hot, it should be like if u put baloshi in it ,the baloshahi sit in the bottom of pan with little bubbles in oil.

9. on low heat cook it until rise.

10. now on medium high heat cook the baloshahi until golden brown.

 

11.now take out the baloshahi put it in light hot sugar syrup ,leave it for 2 minutes .

12.take out from sugar syrup.garnish with crushed almonds .
