Garlic Naan with out oven

Naan the most favorite type of bread in Pakistan/India. I am making this in a very simple way without oven or Tandoor. You can have it with different types of curries. Applying garlic on simple naan makes it garlic naan and it has awesome flavour you must try.

Ingredients,

  • Plain flour  3 cups
  • Water 250 ml
  • Instant dry yeast 1 tsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Egg 1
  • Oil 3-4 tbp
  • Butter as required
  • Garlic 1
  • Fresh coriander  3-4 tbsp

Directions,

1. In a bowl take 250 ml luke warm water. add 1 tsp yeast and 1 tsp sugar. mix well.Leave it for 5 minutes in a hot place.

2. in a big bowl sift plain flour and salt. Add egg and yeast water mixture, 3-4 tbsp oil. mix with light hands until fully combine.Now knead it for just 1 minute.

3. apply 1-2 tbsp oil in bowl and allover the dough. cover the bowl tight with a plastic wrap. Leave it in a hot place for 1 hour.

5. for cooking you will need a rack like this. i am using a cake cooling rack. you can use any rack. I suggest you to buy 1 rack for these naans , like you buy any other pans for cooking. But don't worry if you don't have this kind of rack. you can also make these in a flat pan.

6. Set this rack on your stove. turn on slow heat.

7. after 1 hour take the dough. Because of yeast that will have air inside it. so knead it again for 15 seconds. and make a long log.

8. cut it in 6 parts with knife. don't pull it.

9. Make balls with light hands. and with a little oil apply on your hands. spread 1 ball a little and sprinkle garlic and coriander.

10. Now press it and spread it with hands. Try to keep it even from every side. and you feel its sticking just apply oil on your hands. and apply oil on the work surface.

11. cook it on the rack with medium heat on and move the rack on the fire so that naan will cook from every side. And when you see light bubbles on naan, flip it and again cook it and keep moving rack until naan fully cooked. This will take almost 1 minute or less than 1 minute.
