Dal Ghost/Mutton Curry with Gram Split

Ingredients,

  • mutton from  lamb or goat  leg    400gm
  •  gram spilt / channa dal   100 gm
  • onion 1 medium
  • garlic  chopped  1 tbsp
  • ginger chopped  1 tbsp
  • lemon juice  1 tbsp
  • green chili  2
  • tomato skinless 1
  • fresh coriander  chopped  4 tbsp
  • salt  1 tsp
  • red chili powder  1/2 tsp
  • coriander powder  1 tsp
  • turmeric powder  1/2 tsp

Whole garam masalah

  • whole cumin seeds  1/2 tsp
  • cinnamon stick  1 small
  • bay leave 1
  • star anise  1 half
  • cloves   4-5
  • whole black pepper   1/4 tsp
  • big cardamom  2
  • small cardamom   3

Directions,

1. in a pan add 7-8 tbsp oil and add whole garam masalah stir on medium heat for 30 seconds.

4. add red chili powder, turmeric powder,coriander powder ,stir for 30 seconds to get all the aroma of spices. but be careful with the heat and don't burn the onion and spices.so keep the heat to medium.

5. now add 1 skinless chopped tomato, 2 green chilies, 2 tbsp fresh chopped coriander. stir until all ingredients combine well.

6. now add 4 cups of water and cook it until meat is completely cooked.for almost 60 to 90 minutes.

7. soak the channa dal for 1 hour then boil it until completly cooked.then strain it.set aside.

8. when meat is completely cooked add boiled channa dal and 1 tbsp lemon juice and salt 1 tsp.stir for 4- 5 minutes.serve.
