Sweet and Sour Chicken

Sweet and Sour Chicken is Chinese style chicken recipe ,nice blended sweet and sour flavors ,you will definitely love this recipe.

Serving = 4 persons

Ingredients,

List 1 for chicken marination,

  • chicken boneless  300-400 gm
  • flour  2 tbsp
  • corn flour  2 tbsp
  • egg 1
  • salt  1/4 tsp
  • black pepper  1/2 tsp

List 2

  • capsicum  1
  • mushroom optional   4-5 medium sized
  • onion  1
  • green onion  1
  • pine apple  3 rings
  • garlic chopped  2-3 cloves
  • black pepper  1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar  2 tbsp (use caster sugar if you don’t have brown sugar)
  • corn flour  1-1/2 tbsp
  • ketchup  4 tbsp
  • chili sauce  1 tbsp
  • white vinegar  4 tbsp
  • salt 1/2  tsp or as required

Directions,

1. Cut chicken in small cubes, mix all ingredients of list 1...heat oil in a pan, put these pieces of chicken 1 by 1 in it... fry them until crunchy .

2. Cut capsicum and onion in cubes, slice mushrooms, cut green onion in  1 inch pieces, chop garlic cloves...... Now start cooking.

5. Now add pineapple cubes, brown sugar, ketchup, salt,chili sauce, black pepper ...stir for 1 minute on high heat.

6. Stir it on high heat for 1 minute.
7. Add green onion, stir for 10 seconds.

8. Now add 1 cup hot water in it...if you don't want gravy add 1/2 cup hot water.... mix 1 tbsp corn flour in 1/8 cup water  , add in it and also add 4 tbsp white vinegar.... stir and cook on slow heat for 30 seconds.

  1. Hey Annie! Thnx a lot for sharing this recipe! I tried it today and it’s really good…just one quick question if I want to increase the gravy more what do you suggest to do?

      Hi Nazish. Thank you so much. You can add some more water and cornflour then adjust salt and other sauces.
