Lamb Curry

Lamb curry is a dish that is prepared from lamb meat, onions, yogurt and spices. This is the easiest way of making curry for parties or busy days. I usually make it like this when I need something easy but full of flavour.

I made it with ready made meat spice mix (Shan meat masala) But you can use any meat masala that is available. I made it a little different than the recipe written on the packet. Follow my recipe and you will have taste of qorma in your cuury.

  • 1 kg Lamb meat with bones

  • 1/2 cup Yogurt

  • 3-4 tbsp Meat spice mix

  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic sauce

  • 1/4 cup Oil

  • 3 medium Onions

  • 1-2 tbsp Lemon juice

  • Fresh coriander and chilies as required

  • Salt as required


  • In a bowl add meat,yogurt,ginger,garlic paste and meat spice mix.
  • Mix well, set a side.
  • Heat a pan add oil and sliced onions.
  • Stir and cook until brown in colour.
  • Add in marinated meat.
  • Stir and cook on high heat for 10 minutes almost or until you see oil on sides of the pan.
  • Add in 1 glass water and let it boil.
  • Now with the lid on cook it on low heat for almost 1-1/2 hour or until meat is nicely tender.
  • When meat is nicely tender, add in lemon juice and taste salt. You can adjust the gravy according to your choice. Add little bit more water for more gravy if you want.
  • Garnish with fresh chopped coriander and green chilies. Serve with naan/roti or white rice.
