Semolina Shortbread(Biscuit)

Shortbread is type of a biscuit mostly made from flour, butter and sugar and some times other ingredients added to alter the texture and taste.

Serving = 6 persons

Ingredients,

  • plain flour  175 gm
  • unsalted butter  175 gm  at room temperature
  • fine semolina  75 gm
  • caster sugar  75 gm

Directions,

1. Preheat oven on 150 C. grease a 20 cm round pan and line with butter paper. set a side.

2. In a bowl add all above dry ingredients, mix well. Then add room temperature butter and start rubbing with hands, and be as quick as possible so the butter doesn't get to soft, mix well and take out from bowl .

3. keep the dough in the middle of greased pan, press with fingers and spread it in the pan equally.

4. With the help of back of a spoon even the surface. then prick with fork, and make a design on edges with fork.

5. Bake it in preheated oven for 1 hour 15 minutes or until lightly golden , take it out and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

take out from pan, sprinkle with some caster sugar, cut into pieces, serve
