Vanilla Buttercream Recipe
Simple and basic vanilla buttercream icing recipe to decorate your birthday cakes, cupcakes and sandwich biscuits.Tint with food colouring for any special occasion.
There are lots of buttercream recipes with different measurements, I like to add equal amounts of butter and sugar, some people like to add double quantity of icing sugar than butter,even some people like to add half amount of icing sugar than butter. It is up to you how you like it.
- How to make buttercream icing with no lumps: If your icing sugar is a bit old and granny, sieve the icing sugar to eliminate any clumps as these will not dissolve in the buttercream icing.
- Butter should be on room temperature.
- Sieve icing sugar before using.
Serving : Good for covering a 6 inch round cake or piping on 12 cupcakes.
