Chicken Chow Mein

Learn how to make a Chicken Chow Mein that really does taste as good as what you get at Chinese restaurants. For me its all about good quality sauces and noodles and how you treat chicken. This is almost near to authentic recipe of chowmein but I added a little bit more chili flavor to it because I like hot flavors 🙂 …. So if you are making this for kids or you like less spicy then add a little bit less peppers .

List 1,

  • Chicken boneless   250 g (1 cup almost)
  • Corn flour  1 tbsp
  • Salt  1/4 tsp
  • Hot sauce   2 tbsp heaped
  • Dark soy sauce   1 tbsp
  • Oil  1 tbsp
  • White pepper powder   1/4 tsp

List 2,

  • Shiitake mushroom    100 g
  • Garlic cloves  4
  • Red capsicum   1/2
  • Green onion  2-3
  • Spaghetti   200 g
  • Oil  2-3 tbsp

List 3,

  • Salt  1/2 tsp
  • Light soy sauce  2 tbsp
  • Dark soy sauce  1 tbsp
  • White vinegar   2 tbsp
  • Black pepper crushed  1/2 tsp

1. All ingredients

2. Boil spaghetti according to packet instruction.
drain and set aside.

3. Cut chicken in very thin pieces and marinate for 5-6 minutes with all list 1 ingredients.

4. Julian cut capsicum, finely chop garlic, slice mushrooms, cut green onions in 1 inch pieces and keep white and green part separately.

5. Heat a wok , add 2-3 tbsp oil with garlic and stir few seconds. Do not burn it just until changes its color.

6. Now add chicken

7. Stir and cook it on high heat for 2 minutes.

8. Add mushrooms, capsicum, and white part of green onions. Stir few seconds

9. Now add boiled noodles and all list 3 ingredients.

10. Stir and mix on high heat until combine well. Add green part of onions give it final stir and done.

Chicken Chow Mein is ready . Serve hot.
