Lab-e-Shireen

Lab-e-shireen is a classic Arabian cuisine and Eid dessert in Pakistan. This is rich flavored custard with vermicelli ,fresh fruits,dried fruits, fresh cream, and jelly. It tastes best when its nicely chill. Make and keep it in fridge for 1 day before serving ,this way it will taste perfect.

Ingredients, 

  • Milk   750 g 
  • vanilla custard powder   1-2 tbsp
  • colored vermicelli   1/2 cup
  • Sugar  1/2 cup  (Or you can also use sweetened condensed milk  200 g)
  • almonds and pistachios chopped   1/2 cup
  • Fruit cocktail   1 tin
  • banana  1
  • Fresh cream   1-1/2 cup
  • Jelly 3 colors   red/yellow/green   ( make and use half packet each )

1. I am using these vermicelli.

2. Take 750 g milk, let it boil then add sugar or condensed milk with vermicelli.
3. Let it cook on medium heat until vermicelli are tender
4. Now mix 2 tbsp custard powder in 1/4 cup milk.
5. Add in and cook until slightly thick.

6. Take out in serving dish and let it cool.
7. After its cool add 1-1/2 cup cream and mix.
8. Now open fruit cocktail ,throw all water from it, add in, mix.
9. add almonds and pistachios ,and jelly.
10. garnish with jelly,almonds and pistachios.

Chill it in fridge and serve.
