Muhammara Recipe

Muhammara is a delicious Middle Eastern dip made with roasted red peppers and walnuts. Muhammara is eaten as a dip with bread, as a spread for toast, and as a sauce for kebabs, grilled meats, and fish.

Ingredients

  • Red pepper  2 
  • Walnuts  1 cup
  • Garlic cloves  2
  • Smoked paprika  1 tsp
  • Breadcrumbs  3 tbsp
  • Extra virgin olive oil  1/4 cup
  • Pomegranate molasses  1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt/pepper as required
  • Chili flakes  1/4 tsp

Heat oven at 200 C. Apply oil on red peppers.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until you see lightly burnt skin.

Peel off the skin,take out seeds and discard.

Now add all ingredients in a blender/chopper.

Make a paste.
