Nani Ke Shahi Tukray/Dabal Ka Meetha

 This recipe is from a lovely old lady,i better say her nani.. :).She has a page on Facebook (ammi se poocho), and she told this recipe in her video. I really like the way she was telling this recipe in her video, that reminds me of my nani. I can’t stop my self making this lovely recipe.Please see the link how beautifully she is describing how to make dabal ka meetha. and my favourite part of this video is when she says (laziz)… I done a little bit changes to this recipe, i hope she will not mind that… 🙂 . But seriously i want to thank her a lot  for this lovely recipe.

Ingredients,

  • big bread slices  3-4
  • milk  3/4 cup
  • fresh cream  10-12 tbsp
  • sugar  1 cup
  • water 1 cup
  • butter 4-5 tbsp
  • yellow food colour as required
  • pistachio  9-10

Directions,

1. Take bread slices, cut in 4 parts.

2. in a pan add butter, toast bread slices in it until golden brown. In traditional way ,people used to fry these bread slice, i don't like to much oil in bread so i am toasting these with some butter.

4. Take 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a pan ,stir it and cook it on medium heat until thread will form, that means when you keep sugar syrup between your fingers, press and open a thread will form.

5. also add some yellow food colour while cooking. this will give a nice beauty to your dish. So cook it until thread will form, then turn off the heat. set aside for 2-3 minutes.

6. Take 200 gm milk add some yellow food colour, let it boil, turn off the heat ,set a side.

7. Take a pan or plate of your choice. Dip bread slices in sugar syrup then set in the pan.

10. Sprinkle pistachio. serve.
