Chicken Manchurian

One of the popular Chinese Paki recipe …. Different people make it in different styles, some add vegetables, some fry chicken some not, some like to have it with lot of gravy …. My way of making this is simple and quick with some gravy ..usually I make it in 2 styles, 1 with fried chicken, in other way I don’t fry chicken…this time I am showing you 1 way of making this … 🙂

Ingredients,

List 1 Chicken marination

  • Chicken boneless  300-400 g
  • salt  1/2 tsp
  • black pepper  1/4 tsp
  • plain flour  2 tbsp
  • corn flour  1 tbsp
  • egg 1
  • garlic chopped  1 tsp
  • oil 1tbsp

List 2

  • oil  2 tbsp
  • garlic chopped  1-1/2  tbsp
  • corn flour  1-1/2 tsp
  • green onions   3-4
  • white vinegar   1 tbsp

List 3 for sauce

  • tomato ketchup   1/4 cup
  • sriracha sauce  or hot sauce  2 tbsp
  • red chili flakes   1/2 tbsp
  • sugar  2 tsp
  • soy sauce  1 tbsp
  • Worcestershire  sauce 1 tbsp
  • salt  1/2 tsp
  • black pepper  1/4 tsp
  • water  1/4 cup

Directions,

1. Cut boneless chicken in small cubes.

3. Mix well.

4. Fry chicken in batches, until golden and set a side.

5. Add 3 tbsp oil in a wok... add chopped garlic 1 tbsp..fry it until light brown...Do not burn it .

6. Add all above list 3 sauce ingredients and stir for 1 minute on medium heat.

7. Add fried chicken, mix well, then add 1/2 cup water mix in 1-1/2 tsp corn flour...mix then add green onions... turn the heat slow and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.

7. Add fried chicken, mix well, then add 1/2 cup water mix in 1-1/2 tsp corn flour…mix then add green onions and white vinegar… turn the heat slow and let it cook for 3-4 minutes. I add just a pinch of red food colour in it at this stage to get perfect red colour, you can do so if you want.
