Shawarma

Middle Eastern chicken shawarma is a delicious recipe made with thinly sliced seasoned chicken, veggies, and sauce wrapped in a Kubz or Pita bread

Shawarma is the ultimate on-the-go meal. If you’ve never had Shawarma, you are truly missing out on a delightful quick meal. Like a fast food burger with its ketchup and mustard, shawarma is not complete unless it has a sauce to go with it.

I was totally not in a mood of cooking today but feel like eating that yummy shawarma we bought from our favourite shop,its nearly December so cold outside,also don’t want to go and buy that ,so I decided to make it myself , keeping in mind all those tastes and textures, I made this recipe in a quick and easy way with less messy kitchen 😉

Ingredients,

List 1 for chicken marination

  • Chicken boneless  500 g
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Cumin crushed  2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder  1 tsp
  • Yogurt  3 tbsp
  • Lemon juice  2 tbsp
  • Red chili flakes  1 tsp
  • Coriander powder  1 tsp
  • White vinegar  1 tbsp

List 2 for dough

  • Self-raising flour   3 cups
  • Salt  1 tsp

List 3

  • Tomatoes as required
  • Pickled Jalapeno
  • Pickled cucumber

List 4 for sauce

  • Yogurt   1 cup
  • Mayonnaise   4 tbsp
  • Salt and black pepper a pinch

Directions,

1. Add all list 4 ingredients in a bowl ,mix well , set a side.

2. Marinate chicken with all list 1 ingredients for 10 minutes

3. Cook with 4-5 tbsp oil on high heat until all extra juices from chicken evaporates , then add 1 tbsp BBQ sauce , mix well and cook until you see lightly roasted chicken

4. Chicken is done ,turn off the heat.

5. Knead a medium consistency dough with list 2 ingredients and some water. Let it rest for half hour

6. Cut all veges from list 3.

7. Cook naan on tawa with kneaded dough.
Apply some butter if you want.

Now arrange it first naan, then sauce, chicken, veges, again some sauce. Roll and serve
