Easy Masala Chicken Biryani

Making Biryani is a nightmare for you :).Or you don’t want to make it because it has lot of steps and ingredients. Or you are a beginner in cooking.

I observed what things people find difficult in making biryani. First cutting onion and browning them … 2nd making and bunnao its qorma …. 3rd lot of ingredients and steps …

So I made this recipe specially for all you who want to make biryani but do not want to do much work. I tried to skip all difficult steps from it and results really came out perfect. This is yummy , masala full of flavors biryani. I skipped steps to that extent where this biryani will not loose its real and actual flavors 🙂 .

I used ready made fried onions in it, so no tension of cutting and browning them…. Just mix chicken with all spices and leave it to cook until tender ,so no bhonnao tension at all …. I used spices which are normally available in every Pakistani/Indian homes so over all tried to skip some difficulties from this recipe.

Made some fresh salad and yogurt dip with it and do give it a try, its easy yet delicious recipe, do give your feed backs 🙂

List 1,

  • Ready made fried onion  1 cup
  • Tomatoes finely chopped  3 big
  • Yogurt  1 cup
  • Green chili  2
  • Salt  3 tsp
  • Garam masala powder   3 tsp heaped
  • Red chili powder  2 tsp heaped
  • Cumin powder  1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder   1 tsp
  • Lemon juice   2 tbsp
  • Star anise   2
  • Cinnamon stick  1 medium
  • Oil  1 cup
  • Chicken  1 kg

List 2,

  • Rice   750 g
  • Salt  6 tsp
  • Mint leaves  6-7

List 3,

  • Kewra water  2 tbsp
  • Fresh coriander  1/4 cup chopped
  • Yellow food colour as required

1. I am using these ready made fried onions.

2. Take all List 1 ingredients.

3. Mix with chicken.

4. Stir and cook it on high heat for 5 minutes. Then turn the heat low and with lid on cook it for half hour. Stir in between.

5. Sprinkle half coriander on it. turn off the heat.
You can see its not completely dry. this is exactly how we want it with a little gravy in it.

6. Now boil rice with list 2 ingredients, salt and mint leaves.
when water comes to a boil add rice …when you see first boil of water with rice take out half rice and spread them on chicken …. let the remaining rice boil for 2 more minutes then take out and spread them on chicken and rice.

7. Sprinkle remaining coriander on it with kewra water and yellow food colour. Cover it with tight lid and turn the heat high until you see some steam coming out of the pan. Then turn the heat low, and leave it for 10 minutes.

10. Open this dum after 10 minutes and rice are ready.

11. Serve it with fresh salad
