Bhindi Dopiyaza (Ladyfinger with onions)

 

Among all the vegetables; Green vegetables is regarded as the most nutritious one and are beneficial for everyone’s diet. … It is none other than Lady finger also called ‘Okra’ or we Pakistani’s say it bhindi :).

A famous Pakistani recipe Bhindi Dopiyaza. This recipe is in my most favorite recipes. In this ladyfingers (okra) (bhindi) cooked with lots of onions and spices. You can serve it with white rice or plain chapati. Also serve it with plain yogurt or any other spicy style raita.

Serving= 2-3

Ingredients,

  • Ladyfinger   250 g
  • Chat masala   1/2 tsp
  • Salt  1 tsp
  • Onion  2 big
  • Tomato  1
  • Green chili  1-2
  • Oil  5-6 tbsp
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

List 2,

  • Red chili powder    3/4 tsp
  • Whole cumin  1 tsp
  • Dried fenugreek leaves (methi)   2 tsp
  • Coriander powder   1-1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder  1/4 tsp

Method,

1. Heat wok add 5-6 tbsp oil with ladyfingers (I am using frozen okras).
2. Now add chat masala and stir it on high heat until these ladyfingers are slightly crispy.
3. Take out set a side.
4. Now same pan add 2-3 tbsp oil with sliced onions and stir for 1 minute on high heat.
5. Add tomatoes.
6. Stir it until tomatoes are slightly tender.
7. Add all list 2 ingredients, and mix well.
8. Add fried ladyfinger and chopped green chili with salt, mix well.
9. Give it 5 minutes dum and Bhindi dopiyaza is ready to serve.

 

Directions,
