Bhuni Mash ki Daal

Bhuni Mash ki dal or dry white lentils is my favorite dish and also favorite of most Pakistani families so I made it  today and wow lovely and awesome taste, try it and tell me you like it or not 🙂

Serving = 4-5

Ingredients,

  • White lentils / mash dal/ urad dal     250 g
  • Turmeric powder  1 tsp
  • Salt  1 tsp
  • Kashmiri red chili 2
  • Ginger garlic paste  1 tbsp
  • Water 2 cups

  • Oil   1/4 cup
  • Onion 1 medium
  • Tomato  1
  • Fresh coriander chopped    3 tbsp
  • Fresh mint chopped  2 tbsp
  • Fresh green chili   2
  • Julian ginger   2 tbsp
  • Cumin whole  1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder  1 tsp
  • Lemon juice   3-4 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder   1 tsp
  • Salt  1/2 tsp or as required

Directions,

1. Soak mash dal for 1 hour.
Cook it with all list 1 ingredients on medium heat until nicely tender.

2. Add 1/4 cup oil in a pan with finely sliced onions. Cook until light brown.

3. Now add chopped tomato and cumin and garam masala.

4. Stir it until you see oil with sides of pan.

5. Add fresh coriander,mint,chilies,ginger, salt, red chili powder.

5. Stir well.

7. Add cooked daal and lemon juice.

8. Mix well and turn the heat slow ,cook it for 10 more minutes.
Sprinkle fresh coriander, and Julian ginger. Turn off the heat. Serve with naan or  chapati.
