Qofta Curry/Meatballs Curry

Serving= 5-6

Ingredients,

List 1  for making qofta/meatballs

  • Lamb/goat   mince with fat     500 g
  • garlic cloves  4-5
  • ginger  1 inch piece
  • fresh  coriander  a hand full
  • fresh mint 10-12 leaves
  • bread slice   1
  • salt  3/4 tsp or as required
  • red chili powder  1 tsp

List 2

  • roasted grams (bhunay channy)   2 tbsp
  • poppy seeds  (khaskhas)   1 tbsp
  • cumin seeds  (zeera) 1 tsp
  • caraway seeds (kala zeera)  1 tsp
  • small cardamom  6-7
  • whole black pepper   4-5
  • cloves  4-5

List 3 for making curry

  • onion  2
  • yogurt  250 g
  • salt 1 tsp
  • red chili powder  1 tsp  heaped
  • coriander powder  1 tsp  heaped
  • turmeric powder  1/2 tsp
  • cumin powder  1 tsp heaped
  • ginger garlic paste  2 tbsp
  • green chili  2
  • fresh coriander for garnish

Directions,

1. In a grinder add all list 2 ingredients, grind them fine.

5. Wet your hand little bit and make small meat balls...keep them on a plate lined with plastic bag so they will not stick with plate after freezing....now freeze them.

6. Take a pan, add 2 finely sliced onions with 1/2 cup oil....first cook them on high heat for 2-3 minutes...then turn the heat medium and cook them until golden and crispy.

9. Now with 2 tbsp oil and 1/2 cup water , cook meat balls for almost 7-8 minutes or until water dry.

13. Add yogurt mix with 1/2 cup water...mix well then add crushed onions with hand we made above.

15. now add meatballs/qoftay in it and add 1/2 cup water...with lid cook it for 6-7 minutes on slow heat...add more water if you need gravy.
